Sean Casey
Sean Casey has worked in the maternal and child health field for over twenty
years. Mr. Casey served as deputy director of First 5 Contra Costa from 2000
to 2005, providing leadership in developing the agency's evaluation practices
and many of its key funded programs. Before coming to First 5, Mr. Casey
created the Fetal/Infant Mortality Review Project at the Perinatal Network
of Alameda-Contra Costa, a case review of infant deaths to learn how health
services can better respond to their causes. He went on to support and train
similar programs in numerous California counties and in several states. He
also worked at UC-San Francisco in a project to help maternal and child health
programs develop better data for program analysis. Mr. Casey holds master’s
degrees in social welfare and public health from the University of California,
at Berkeley and is a graduate of Oberlin College in Ohio.
