First 5 Centers

First 5 Contra Costa funds five First 5 Centers, which provide free programs and classes to expectant parents and families with children birth to five years.  Up to 100 different classes are provided each month - all free.

Programs focus on pregnancy, parent support, healthy child-parent relationships, positive parenting practices, early childhood development, school readiness, and more.

Last year, the Centers served nearly 1,670 families. Nearly 90% of parents surveyed stated they improved how they care for their child because of their participation.
