Kit for New Parents/Baby Bag Program
Description
Available in English, Spanish, Mandarin, Vietnamese, Cantonese, and Korean, the Kit for New Parents contains dvds and pamphlets with practical information about the importance of the early years, family literacy, quality child care, child safety, discipline, and health and nutrition to help new parents care for their newborn.
The Kit for New Parents is produced by First 5 California and distributed by local partner organizations including prenatal clinics, family resource centers, hospitals, community centers, parenting classes, clinics, home visiting programs, libraries, and other community groups.
The Baby Bag is distributed through local hospitals and home visiting programs. The Bag contains additional parenting information, an ages and stages development chart, and the Surviving Parenthood resource guide to connect parents with programs and services.
