East County Regional Group

Mission Statement:
To educate and empower East County residents to promote a healthy, safe family friendly and multi-cultural community by providing free activities for young children, supporting leadership development and advocating on behalf of young children and their families.
The East County Regional Group (ECRG) is committed to reducing childhood obesity by advocating for more safe and free/affordable opportunities for physical activity for young children. The ECRG is currently partnering with the Recreation Departments of Pittsburg, Antioch and Oakley to offer affordable karate, dance and soccer classes for children ages 2 to 5. If you are interested in signing up for these classes, please contact (925) 771-7738.
The ECRG also sponsors our annual “Week of the Young Child” Celebration every April at Small World Park, Pittsburg. This FREE festival is geared towards young children and promotes healthy, safe and family friendly communities in East Contra Costa County. The festival provides young children with educational and fun filled entertainment while offering parents a wealth of information about resources for families in their area. This year’s “Week of the Young Child Celebration” is April 26th, 2008!
If you are interested in joining a fun, caring and committed group of community members and want to advocate for young children, please call us at: (925) 335-9991 ext 38. We would love to hear from you!
