APPLY for a Family-Friendly Community Grant!
Grants are available for community groups and nonprofit organizations to upgrade playgrounds, provide free art, music and CPR classes and coordinate health and safety fairs. Sign up for our mailing list to receive funding alerts.
VOLUNTEER with a Community Regional Group!
Parents, early care providers, and community members have formed four Community Regional Groups in Central, East, South and West Contra Costa County to plan free family events, coordinate leadership trainings, and advocate with elected officials to make our County safer and more family-friendly. The groups meet monthly and receive $10,000 to conduct projects. Sign up!
GET INVOLVED in a First 5 Center!
First 5 Centers are located in Antioch, Bay Point, Brentwood/
Oakley, Concord, and Richmond/San Pablo, offering families
with young children a range of supportive programs in one
place. Join a board made up of local residents and community
agencies to manage the services and activities at the center.
Board members volunteer at least ten hours each month.
Other volunteer opportunities are also available at First

JOIN a School Readiness Team!
New school readiness programs are offered in Antioch, Bay Point, Concord, Pittsburg, Richmond, and San Pablo. Join principals, teachers, parents and early care providers on a school readiness team. These teams develop new activities and programs for children two to five years old and their families that help children get ready for Kindergarten.
